ROOT was a drop about where we come from. The places that raised us, the people who stood with us, and the culture we carry into every room we walk into. This is the story behind it, the two Ibadan landmarks where we shot it, the seven pieces that made it, and how to wear them now.
Why we called it ROOT
Every Aurum Styles™ piece starts with a feeling before it becomes a garment. For ROOT, that feeling was memory: the streets you grew up on, the friends who knew you before anyone else did, the city that shaped how you move.
We wanted clothes that felt familiar and easy to live in, but still looked like they had something to say. Relaxed shapes, clean graphics and the Aurum wordmark front and centre.
Wherever you go, carry where you began.
Shot in Ibadan: Adebisi Mansion and Bower's Tower
We took ROOT to two places that hold the history of Ibadan.
Adebisi Mansion. Inside, we found green walls, carved wooden chairs and heavy old doors. It felt like stepping into a family album, so that is how we shot it: friends sitting together, trading jackets, laughing between takes.
Bower's Tower. Then we climbed to Bower's Tower, the hilltop landmark that looks out over the whole city. Brick steps, the old gate and the city skyline at dusk gave the outdoor looks their light.
Old places, new clothes. The pieces needed to stand next to history and still feel like now.
The seven pieces
ROOT came in two lines: Nexus, the men's bottoms, and Nox, its women's counterpart, plus the Root tops and two tanks.
- Nexus Baggy Jorts: the short cut of the Nexus line, wide and relaxed for hot days.
- Nexus Baggy Joggers: wide and relaxed, made to stack over sneakers.
- Root Boxy Tee: a boxy fit with the Aurum wordmark on the chest.
- Root Cropped Boxy Shirt: the cropped version, cut for high waists and layering.
- Nox Mini Skirt: the Nox side of the drop, the same graphics cut as a mini skirt.
- Cypher Women Tank (Root): a cropped sleeveless top for the heat.
- Onyx Male Tank (Root): a clean sleeveless tank with a relaxed drop.

How to wear ROOT now
Keep it simple. A Root boxy tee with Nexus baggy jorts and chunky sneakers is the easiest ROOT look. Add a chain and you are done.
Go tonal. White tee, white Nexus joggers, one dark accessory. It photographs well and it works anywhere.
Mix the lines. Pair the Nox mini skirt or the Cypher tank with an oversized Root tee knotted at the waist for a look that sits between both sides of the drop.
Layer for the evening. Throw an open jacket or overshirt over the Onyx tank, keep the joggers wide and let the proportions do the talking.
