From one sewing machine
BusinessDay reports that founder Louis Akorede Awode started the brand, then called ClovisCasuals, with ₦15,000 and one sewing machine. It later moved its base to Lagos, built a following across West Africa and, by the brand's own figures, sold more than 20,000 garments. BusinessDay says its clients included Asake and Olamide.
Why it stopped
Awode paused the brand in 2019 to study abroad, completing a master's in Scotland and then enrolling on an MBA in the United States.
What's in the collection
BusinessDay describes three lines: Lagos Loom, with woven denim and fringe outerwear; Afroform, with geometric print sets; and City Graphics, which marks the journey from Ibadan to Atlanta. Vanguard names the Lasgidi Express Tee and Lagos Horizon Tee among the pieces.
