CANEX WKND brings African fashion to Lagos, 5 to 8 November

CANEX WKND, Afreximbank's creative economy festival, runs from 5 to 8 November 2026 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos, with fashion as a key part of the programme.

What it is

The event is held with the African Union and the AfCFTA Secretariat. Its fashion programme connects African designers with buyers and retailers through exhibitions, showcases and export-focused sessions. A Deal Room lets creative entrepreneurs pitch to financiers and investors.

The fashion pavilion

BellaNaija reports that Afrique Femme will host an exhibition pavilion of West and Central African labels, including Makeda by AYA Konan, KUMI and KWELAKU, with showcases, pop-ups and private sales. A networking brunch for women leaders is set for Saturday 7 November.
